President

I graduated in 2002 from Conestoga College in Mechanical Engineering – Robotics and Automation. Now with over 20 years experience in controls and custom machine building currently with a focus on Business development and client relationships. I started my career with Edson Packaging Machinery and in 2012 founded ProVantage Automation with Partner Alex Shalamov

Alexander Shalamov

Vice-President

No stranger to the automation industry and custom machine building with over 20 years experience with a focus on Motion, Safety, and Drive Systems. I graduated in 2003 from Mohawk College in Electrical Engineering Technology. Started my career with Edson Packaging Machinery and in 2012 founded ProVantage Automation with Partner Peter Graham.

Kyle Jimmink

Engineering Manager

I graduated in 2010 from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Technology in Process Automation. I have over 13 years of experience in controls with a background in industrial robotics and material handling, PLC programming, and motion control. I joined the ProVantage team in 2016 as part of the controls team and grew to oversee the engineering department with a very hands-on approach. My door is always open to help wherever and whenever I can.

Justen Smith

Sr. Account Manager

I graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and immediately went to work for Kimberly- Clark. I started with controls design and machine development and ended with leading projects around the world, working at 7 sites from 1992 to 2008. I worked at Futura NA as VP of Engineering from 2008 to 2014 focused on supporting clients and growing the business in the US and Canada. I joined ProVantage in 2016 and have been working in technical sales and client development ever since.

Steve Boothe

Business Development

I graduated in 1975 then started my career in the material handling business, specializing in dense phase pneumatic conveying. In the early 90's I moved into the packaging industry, specifically case packaging, first in an engineering capacity, then into sales a roll where I spent the last 30 years. I retired in 2021 then joined the ProVantage team to support Applications and Business Development.
